Happy Birthday Donald Duck!

Donald Duck's birthday is officially recognized today.  He made his debut in the silly symphony cartoon "The Wise Little Hen" on June 9, 1934.  In the 1940's, he surpassed Mickey Mouse in the number of cartoons reaching the theaters.  Eventually, there were 128 Donald Duck cartoons.  He went on to appear in numerous cartoons with the fabulous five-Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, and Goofy.  Donald Duck was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2004.  (Disney)

Even though Donald has a fiery temper, audiences are endeared to him throughout the generations.  We love Donald's girlfriend, Daisy for her patience with him and her ability to calm his rampage.  We love that Donald has a strong family tie with his three nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie.
