Summer Movie Feature: Toy Story & Toy Story 2

Our house is having a family movie festival this summer.  First up for our movie extravaganza is Toy Story and Toy Story 2.  These movies were released November 22, 1995 and November 24, 1999.  We use Sonlight for our homeschool curriculum and one of the resources for parents enjoyment is The Wisdom of Pixar: An Animated Look at Virtue by Robert Velarde.  So as I was reading this on my Kindle app, I thought it would be good to discuss some of the virtues with my kids.  I like what the author says, "True friendship helps us in some small way better understand the goodness of God."  He goes on to say, "Moving beyond our comfort zones in friendship will provide opportunities to not only grow in character ourselves, but help others grow too."  We encourage our kids to make friends with others who might not be exactly like them.  We hope they will reach out to the child who gets left out because they are different.  So we watched the movie together as a family, discussed some of the ideas presented in the movie on friendship and had a pizza party!

Here's some of our pictures from our movie night:
