Ways to Help your Child Relax at Walt Disney World

Hop on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover

I first fell in love with this when my then 9 year old niece wanted to ride.  It is very relaxing and meant for all ages to enjoy.  During your 10 minute ride, you see behind the scenes traveling through Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Space Mountain and Mickey's Star Traders store.

Relax on a journey through Spaceship Earth at Epcot

The Monorail passing by Spaceship Earth and Leave a Legacy monuments at night at Epcot

Another ride for all ages, this is something we've used at the end of a busy day in Epcot for kids who are wired on too much sugar, visual effects and excitement.

Ride the Monorail

My kids think the monorail is an attraction by itself.  We have gotten on and just watched all the busy people.

Take a rest at your Walt Disney World Resort room

This is sometimes easier said than done.  It is hard to tear yourself away from the park.  If you are disciplined, you can get up early, take a rest after lunch and then stay out a little later for fireworks and other special events.

Go for a swim in your Walt Disney World Resort pool

The Nanea Volcano Pool with a waterfall and tubular waterslide

This can be for the afternoon break from all the visual stimulation at the Parks or some families take an entire day off mid-week to just lounge by the pool.

Grab your favorite snack

Okay so this one might not have a calming effect....I'm a huge fan of Disney's cupcakes!   Usually a snack is a great way to take a break, do a little people watching and rejuvenate those tired feet.

All Aboard....the Walt Disney World Railroad

Once on board this majestic train, relax on this 20 minute, 1.5 mile scenic ride.  Did you know there are actually 4 authentic steam powered trains?  You don't have to wait long, they are scheduled to arrive every 4-10 minutes at the station.

What ways have you found to relax while on a Walt Disney World Vacation?  Hope these are helpful to you and yours on your next Magical trip!
